It has been a long time without spearing since I moved out of Qatar, so I flew for the weekend and went with my friend Richie to Khor Odaid. The viz was perfect, we managed to get our biggest fish thus far (17 KG Grouper) :inlove

Looking forward for another trip soon !

LOL very funny picture...the water is not cold yet in qatar? here in Dubai we started wearing wet suits since 1 month!

These pictures were taken first week of November, and it started to be a bit chilly without a wetsuite especially below 4 meter depth. Next trip wetsuits are needed for sure ... even in Qatar :)

Hey nice fish indeed.... I was in Udaid all the last week and viz was great there and since water cooled down there is an abundance of fish now.... I saw a large hamour there (20kg range) but it was very spooky and ran away... I noticed that the larger hamours are spooky and the smaller ones on the other hand tend to get very curious
and approach you to some really close distance, freeze for a while, then realize u are a danger and move away...

best regards

Hello there, I'm glad to hear that viz was great as I will be visiting Qatar in a couple of weeks to try my new gun. It hurts when a 20KG hamour gets away from you .... doesn't it :martial

Hehehe yep indeed it hurts... but in return check what I got in less than 1hr of dive :t:t:t... 7 of those beautiful sea breams...

Very nice, I bet those sea breams tasted very good. Did you say you dove for 1 hour or were you freediving?

Cheers

all dive (free-dive of course) was around 2hrs and half (45mins to get back and forth to the site) and 1hr of free-dive around that spot ;)
