Leave-in conditioner for hoods?

I've decided to try using leave-in conditioner inside for donning a smoothskin hood. Never having bought such a conditioner before, though, I thought I'd ask:

Are there any particular brands that you have found superior.

Also, does it work OK on other parts of the suit? Or would it be better to stick to the old regular kind, or my silicone.
