Hi all,
I just got a Sporasub Mystic to try out. My OMER Bandit is fine but the Mystic was hard to resist. The lenses are super small, I'm afraid to do the lighter defog trick. Should I just scrub it with some toothpaste and be done? Or will the lighter trick be OK? Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys.

I've always been able to get away with toothpaste scrubs on my masks until my present one. Even after scrubbing, it fogged so bad that I could hardly find my way back to the boat. I was afraid of the lighter trick, but it seemed to be the only alternative, and it worked just fine.

I wouldn't think that the size of the lens would matter. Just be careful to direct the flame at the glass rather than the surrounding material.

But it sounds like you haven't even tried toothpaste. If it works, then no need to go to the lighter.

Thanks Bill!
I have tried the toothpaste on my OMER Bandit. It worked reasonably well. I was just looking for a fast alternative. I don't know if you have seen/used a Sporasub Mystic. But, the lenses are so small that the skirt would be extremely close to the flame. This is my worry. Should I just be careful and go for it? I'd rather not mess it up, haha.

Guys, I did the lighter trick and it worked out fine. Then I scrubbed it with some toothpaste to make sure all the burned silicone was removed. Thanks for all the replies.
