Liquivision

Hey y'all, but mostly EFattah heh-heh-heh.

If lake or seawater are ok for short term use in Liquivision goggles, as opposed to a constant saline solution substitution, can one use ultrafiltered water?

Or does one need some amount of salt in the mixture?

Just wondering as I've never really thought about my eye fluids much, ha ha.

To my knowledge, tears are made of the same salinity as the rest of body fluids, namely 0.9% salt by weight.

i.e. 1L of purified water (=1kg)
+ 10g of salt

gives a salt concentration of
10g / 1010g = 0.99%

Most people just use contact lens saline in their goggles (easily available at any drug store).
