I found funny looking bi-fins, though this time they are not regular fins. These are quite uncommon hands fins. They are not to be used like hand fins for swim training, but rather in similar way like with your feet. Just watch the video to get a better idea.

I wonder if it would be allowed at AIDA competitions. Though am not quite sure if the use of such hand fins can bring any performance boost at all - you can swim faster with them, but you also spend more oxygen. I'd be curious about some serious tests. However, I am sure you need to train long time before you get used to such thing and find the right technique.

I've added the video to the freediving equipment section of my video collection.

Couldnt get the Video to work, but looks like fun.
Sorry, I had an error on the link page. Now it is fixed. You will need QuickTime viewer though - it is a free media player from Apple (Mac). You can get it at www.apple.com/quicktime/download/. Even better is the QuickTime-Alternative - it can plug into WinAmp, and unlike the software from Apple, it does not clutter your system with unnecessary junk like iTunes.

Actually the Liquix fins work completely differently - you do not stretch the hands over your head like like with the Water Wing, and you do not use them in the breaststroke stile - you keep your fins backwards and move them in similar way you move your feet fins.

Thanks for the link! I've added the videos of Jan Ploeg's Water Wing to the Freediving Equipment section too. There is already a nice collection of different swiming diving devices: for example the Aqueon or the Freedom Fins are also interesting and funny concepts.
