Loading a long gun &the loadingpad?

Any tips on loading a long gun? Do U use some kind of tool to load a long gun &| string loops?

Is there anything special to consider when crafting a loading pad? Any tips what to use? I was thinking of a hard circular pad with soft backing &a hole or maybe a string loop for the gun butt.

I have a new long Salvimar Atlantis bluewater gun &loading it is a burden. I cant reach the rubbers while holding the gun to the chest so I have to load it in 2 phases; 1 st loading the rubbers to 1 st wire (on 4 wire shaft) while holding the gun to pelvis then the rest of the way while holding the gun to the chest. Also the load to chest is huge; the pads in the wet suit R not nearly enough...

I use 130cm rail gun whit two 17 mil circulars bands that I've adapted to be starched to my arms power limit.
For me unloading is significantly difficult that loading. So when unloading, I just shot it into the blue, if possible.

As for the pain in the chest, just take it. If the pain is unbearable, try to work out the upper abs muscles two times per week, in order to get more tonus (4 weeks workout will do).
We've all seen shaolin monks breaking spears whit the tip against their chest. And they are human too!

I wont take the pain. Besides I am not loading the gun on my abs &train actively. My gun is also bigger then yours &has 3 bands . The pain is a real problem. My suits dont have proper pads for loading a bluewater gun nor does the gun have proper butt for comfortable loading. This combination would result unbearable pain when loading after some shots (&I know what coping with pain is; I do white water kayaking &sports climbing, but I rarely use pain killers).

Try Hip loading. Use your weight belt as a pad.

What I do is cut a piece of those camping mat(blue ones to sleep on) and stuff two big pieces in my wetsuit. IT also keeps out water from there. In winter I put big pieces at my back-zip for some extra insulation. Works quite well surprisingly! Hope it helps

I have a narrow waist and my stock Sporasub wetsuit feels little beat larger in that particular area. I'll try to put some extra piece of neoprene there, maybe it will works!

Hi. Hope it works. Worked for me. For example last weekend I went diving, once with that extra neoprene(for loading) and once I forgot it. THe time without the extra neoprene I got some ugly bruises. CHeers. Moz
