I have noticed that all the info on competitions is national and international events. How about some small local or all comer events for those of us who want to get our feet wet? At 42 and only starting a year ago, I am not going to win any events unless they have a category for old guys who started late in life, but it would be fun to experience competition. If nothing else, it would help me relate to national and world-class performers and their results better.

Second part of the question concerns my two daughters, ages 6 and 9. Both started swim team this summer and although they enjoy it, they like their father, would rather swim under the water than on top of it. The 6 year old has been doing 12 yard dynamic lately. I never asked to her to do it, she just started on her own.

The other day at a meet they said they wish there were underwater competitions. I told them there were and they became excited. Are there any meets where they could participate? I realize they would probably be the only the children, but I think they would love it, especially if the adults took some interest in them and gave some encouragement.
