Locating courses

Hello. I'm new to freediving and would like to take a beginner's course. Could anyone direct me in the right direction? I live in the Cape Cod, MA, area and would like to find one here in MA or in Rhode Island. Haven't had any luck finding anything online. Thanks.

(I had a similar question when I joined. Unfortunately, the travel thing hasn't worked out for me... Performance Freediving has a highly reputable program but I don't think any of their sites are near you. Vertical Blue offers courses, but in the Bahamas. Martin Stepanek recently started his own program, but it is in Florida... Hope you have better luck than me!)

I guess that explains why I hadn't been able to find any info online about courses in this area. Maybe someday I'll make it down to Miami for Performance Freediving...

One other instructor I came across during my search was: Trace Malinowski SCUBA & Freediving Instruction . I don't know of anyone who studied with him, however. He is supposedly in PA.

I know it isn't local but wouldn't you rather have warm water? There are multiple opportunities in Florida.

I was (still am) a complete beginner last summer when I took the Performance Freediving class Performance Freediving | home | with Kirk Krack and Martin Stepanek. I highly recommend both Kirk and Martin. Now that Martin is running his own training company DiveFIT - freediving, monofin, breath hold, spearfishing, snorkeling you have double the choices.

Hop a plane to Florida and you'll have a great time.
