London at Christmas time

I know it is still summer in England but we have booked plane tickets to London for a couple of nights in early December & as we need a hotel, I was wondering if anyone knows of a reasonable one to stay?
We want to be as central as possible & not on to much of a budget but not crazy prices either.
PS might be up for a few beers with any members around at the time?

Foxfish , have a look at laterooms .com or lastminute .com .
The centre is full of hotels , all much the same , prices range from £150-£400 a night .
Would love to meet up for beer if possible .
