The Long Beach Neptune’s are holding their only auction for 2008. Because this is the only auction of the year we are not holding back on any gear and we have more new gear this year than ever! Wet suits, Spearguns, Mori tips, floats, bungees, float lines, lobster bags, fins, masks, snorkels, stringers, you name it... All new! Lots of other used gear, videos, t-shirts, books, everything but the kitchen sink! Some items go for pennies on the dollar and it's always a great time, the pizza's good the beer's cold and there are a lot of Spearos coming so it's a great way to put some names to faces. This event is open to everyone and with all this gear, it takes a wile to get through so, show up early because we start the bidding at 7:00 pm sharp. We will also have guest speakers and I will post more details as they come.

Time : 7:00pm, March 5th 2008

Place : Me and Ed's Pizza
4115 Paramount Blvd.
Lakewood Ca. 90712-3913, US

How are they going to fit all that gear into a Me-N-Eds?

I'm very excided to announce that one of our Neptune's, Mori, has just dropped a bomb shell on our only auction this year. He is donating a 62" MORI GUN, RIGGED! 5/16 SHAFT, SLIP-TIP AND BANDS! I've seen the gun and it's sweet! Great gun for all around California and perfect timing for the season too. If you were on the fence about coming to the Neptune's auction, this should give you the proper motivation. The bidding on this gun will start at only $550.00. That's less than half before it's even rigged. The Auctions still two weeks away so save your pennies!

I will try to get some pics of the gun posted asap.

On the lighter side, we should have the Blue Water Meet(BWM) T-shirts available for sale by Auction time, this year with the option of long sleeves. I've attached a shot of the logo. They look sweet!

Finally, if you are interested in sponsorship to attend the BWM this June and are not a member of another club competing, this is a good time to hang around and meet some members, drink some beer, good pizza, ah you know the rest... So come on out and show your support to one of our local clubs.

Alright guys, we have six days to go until the Auction and the guns just keep coming! Tom Murry, owner of Pacific Sporting goods in Long Beach is donating a new Sporasub Instinct Carbon 115. Perfect size for California waters!

I have to say (again
biggrin.gif
), with out a doubt, as far as equipment goes, this is going to be one hell of an Auction! The rest of the fun is up to you guys. Chris (Southbound) has been talking with Rick from Aimright and their gun is on it's way!

Mori, Aimright, Riffe, and now Tom with Sporasub! All new guns! I pity the fool that's not at this Auction! I posted a pic of the gun and a pic of Tom with a nice fish (how's that for a fat YT?). I'm sure everybody knows where Tom's shop is but for those that didn't, heres his address.

The auction was awesome!!! and the pizza was damn good as well. I hooked up an autgraphed copy of Terry Maas's book. Got to meet a bunch of great spearos too. There was an old-skool Cressi mask that I got outbid for. And the guns were nuts!!! The Daryl Wong gun was sick, carbon and kevlar I think. And I wish the Newcastle was on tap but the pizza more than made up for it. Al Schneppershoff Jr, Shaemus, and others I got to meet. I actually met Al a few weeks ago during the Dive n Surf sale. But the place was packed! It was great. But the coolest thing I saw was at our table. It was in the corner in the back. Every person at the table (myself not included) was eating the pizza with a fork and knife. And this old dude at the end of the table was just chowin' down the real way. The whole sight was funny as shit: right on to that old dude!!!

They were eating pizza with a knife and fork? And it wasn't an elaborate joke? Congrats on the Terry Maas book. It would have been fun just to see all that gear and meet so many spearos. Thanks for the report :)
