I'm beginning my initial research on those freedivers who are over the age of 50. This is for a documentary video project I'm developing

I've already contacted a couple of male freediver's I know, but want to get in contact with any female freediver's who are over this age.

If interested or you know of a female freediver over the age of 50, please get in touch with me.

Among the members of APNEA.cz there are 25 registered freedivers over 50 years old, including at least two women. One of them is a member of our club. There are also around another hundred freedivers of this age who attempted to register at APNEA.cz but did not pass the test, so did not complete the registration. Some of them might have used a false birth date though.

If you are interested, let me know. I cannot give you the names or addresses, since it would violate the privacy policy of APNEA.cz, but perhaps I could write to some of them myself, and asking them to contact you. I do not know though if you are looking for freedivers abroad, or just people living close to you.

EDIT: btw, the most famous female veteran freediver is probably Annabel Briseno, so it may be worth of contacting her. An archived copy of her website is available here. Perhaps the contact info is still valid.

When you get to the male side, be sure to contact Sonny Tanabe. He swam in the 58? olympics and dove last saturday in the Aloha games. The form, shape and speed may not be what they used to be but most free divers would improve if they were as comfortable in the water as he looked.

Cliff, and if you did not contact Bill (what I apparently falsely assumed), be sure to speak to him too. Well, he may be too old for your documentary (almost 20 years over your age limit) :D, but as an active freediver and a US record holder (I hope he gets it back soon again!), he might be interesting for you anyway.
