Hi All,
I'm near Winchester, in the South of the UK. I've just returned from a yoga holiday in Egypt that had the yoga cancelled. I decided to give snorkelling a go and am now totally hooked. I'd love to snorkel on the South Coast (I've heard Kimmeridge is good) and learn to freedive. Looking for experienced snorkelling/freediving buddies for days out over the summer :-)

Hi Karen, I'm also looking for a Snorkelling/Freediving partner for Dorset weekend dives. I live in Newbury and dive the Purbecks and Portland most weekends. Be safer with a buddy!!

Hi Karen, has anyone directed you to the UK/Ireland subforum yet? It's a good place for folks from your region to discussing diving and meet-ups. Here's a link, just in case you haven't been to the sub yet: https://forums.deeperblue.com/forums/uk-ireland.139/

UK/Ireland has a lot of members, so chances are good that you'll find folks to dive with. Have you taken a freediving class? They are excellent. Lots of good information on freediving form as well as safety.

Hi, I'm just a snorkeller at the mo. The purbecks are just beautiful and I'm sure you can't keep away in this good weather. I'm absolutely looking to do things safely hence why I'm here and looking for new friends to accompany me. Keen to find out more about free diving. I've heard there is centre that specialises in just free diving in Bali that I may just have to visit next year. Do you want to have a chat by phone?

@KarenTC snorkeling IS freediving - you may not consider it as such but we describe it as "an inch and a breath" - you are freediving if you are holding your breath and in an inch of water... I would strongly recommend getting onto either a course or a local club/buddy to ensure you practice safely and get some of the basics down.

Bali has some amazing dive centres for Freediving - definitely worth a visit.

Thanks for that advice Stephan and I do feel very chuffed I'm considered a free diver. I'll look into courses. Thanks!

Hi Karen, happy to chat by phone, you're right about the Purbecks I had a great dive on Saturday and got some great footage of some barrel jellyfish.
