Hey all,

I'm trying to figure out a good place for constant ballast training that I can access from land (since I don't have a boat). It needs to be (hopefully) not too long a swim and it must be at least 30m (99 ft) deep.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

- Dave

That's a tall order. One place comes to mind and that's Point Dume. I don't have maps for there but it gets deep in a hurry off seal rock.

Hi Dave.
Veterans Beach by Redondo pier has 30 meters. I was there last week and we did not swim all the way ( no time) out and did get 25 meters.
Point Dume has only 14 meters next to the seal rock ( been there this last Sunday), But looks like it gets down quickly from there.
I will be going training to Veterans park this week for sure with Jana Strain so let me know if you want to join us. I have float with line and bottom plate, so all ready to go. Also we can take my Zodiak, but for that we need more time. Maybe do a training day on the weekend.

Hi Dave: if you need a training buddy at Vet Beach, I go there frequently for the same reason. PM me if you have some free weekends coming up.

Thx,
Jon
