Evening all.
Just in from my last session and I'm typing this as I have a bath.

Well tonight I lost a the spear for my venom apnea 75.
On firing at the third fish of the night (about 8m down) I noticed something strange... The usual tug on the end wasn't there.. no fish swiming wildy... Dang! My spear had gone...
At this point I was getting low on the good stuff but swam forwards to see if I could see it.. Nope, gone.
A few more sweeps of the area and still no luck.

These things happen I suppose. I'm surprised that the mono had worn so much where it joins the spear. It's quite a new gun, It's cleaned etc. How long should I get out of a mono kit?
I'm sure dyneema must be easier as it can be knotted? Kitesurfing line would be top no?

So anyways.
I'm going to order a spear from apnea.co.uk as they are mighty good with the delivery (And I aint got a clue if my venom carbon is on it's way from dave yet. I was expecting it yesterday. The thought of not getting in the water over the weekend or till mid next week sucks.

The spear on it was 6.3mm. I assume it's alright to use a 6.5?

Cheers folks..

Michael.
