Is this the way to go...SS lineshaft with brass disconnect. 5' heavy landyard to tie off to rig. Heavy shaft with sliptip. Seahornet, riffe or Wong?

thankee

tank hunting or freediving? The rig you described is a type of "riding rig" which is preffered by most serious rig tankers but not the ideal setup for freediving.

Rgdvr:
we are using scuba. I've got alot experience down to 75' spearing but want to setup my rig so I don't have too much of a learning curve at 120' on the rigs next week. Have a solid day to rig when I get down there and learn but was hoping to get the skinny from a rigdvr like yourself. I'm a retired navy diver so have solid training....

when are you going? What type of gun?

definately ss cable. I use 500# coated. I use 3 wraps on the gun and when tanking it I usually just use a brass clip connected to the gun bungie. If I want to leave it I unclip it from the gun and wrap it around a rig leg.

Be careful and good luck.

and don't forget...

...with an extra shaft, fresh batteries in the 'puter and the notion drilled into your noggin that the bubbles always point the way up and screw the fish if it comes to it.
