I recently bought a SI Tech Glove Lock dry glove system. I've lubricated it as specified in the instructions with the beeswax stick which comes with the system, but it is nevertheless very difficult to lock and unlock the system. It feels like there is a large amount of friction between the O-ring and the wrist ring, and it feels like the whole system is binding up. On a couple of occasions I couldn't get the system unlocked even with the assistance of the guy I was with, and I had to pull the wrist ring off the wrist gasket of my dry suit in order to escape from the glove system. Does anybody have any suggestions about lubricants which will make the system easier to lock and unlock, which won't damage the rings, the O-Ring, or the gloves, and which won't wash away with water?

After talking with a couple of SI Tech dealers and the North American distributor about the Glove Lock dry glove system, I lubricated the rings and 0-ring with silicon. Now the system works fine, and I can spin it on and off without assistance. I think the problem was that there was too much friction between the two halves of the ring which goes on each glove, so I couldn't turn the rubber ring. Instead, I was turning both halves of the glove ring together as a unit, which didn't work. After I lubricated the rings with silicon, I could turn the rubber ring readily, and the system locks and unlocks easily.
