today during training my lung (I think thats what it is anyways, behind my pectoral muscle on the right side), started to get sore and i experienced a mild pain whenever I would take a deepbreath in or out. I remember about a year or so ago i experienced somthing like this but i don't really remember how it resolved itself. Has anyone else had this? should i just keep training as normal or chill for a few days...I really want to keep training b/c i have some diving coming up in the very near future.

i too have experianced this except it was right behind my ribcage. i just layed off for a day and was fine after that

Maybe you can tell more about your training so we could speculate of the origin of this pain...

I get exactly the same thing after a prolonged absence from diving, usually at the start of the sumer when my diving becomes more intensive. It goes away gradually over a few days like sore muscles do after a work out. Physiologically speaking though I have no idea whether the pain is muscular in nature or attributable to lung stretching or something else.

ntrik, exactly what happend to me.. after about a month break from statics i whent out spearing a local reef, came home and was doing a static table session and on my breath ups i was feeling it right behind my left side but, it whent away in about 3 days
possibly lung stretching? i've heard about how bad packing can be if you're not doing it properly.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

I gave it a rest the past two days and it seems to be gone now....but i havn't done any heavy training yet. but deep breaths for a while don't cause any discomfort
