Hi guys, I'm fairly new to spearfishing and after lurking in the proverbial string weed for many months I'm now ready to raise my neoprean covered head out in to the big wide world of spearo!

Having scored many brownie points recently from the girlfriend, buying her a car and driving down to devon to pick it up too! I have a pass out on various weekends now - get in! This has pleased my dive buddy / brother (DafyddRees), who was getting rather fed up with the large thumb print on my head!

We are now wanting to expand our repatoir of dive sites (ususlly around Seaton and Beer, along with an occasional jaunt down near plymouth). I'm based in Taunton but would appreciate any info of spearo friendly shore dive sites within a commutable distant. Obviously I don't expect and of your favourite / secret spots just some general areas where one could possibly get hold of some of these decent fish you all keep teasing me with!!!!!!!!

Cheers

Winky, out.

I found the S. Devon coast around Torbay/Paignton/Slapton & South Hams v. good. There are many locations. I reckon it might be good further west towards Plymouth too.

Cheers Mr X! I will be sure to look into those spots! Now just gotta hope the weather improves to get in again!

Look for a PM buddy.

Hi Winky

I too am based in Taunton. Unfortunately I tend to dive midweek much more than weekends otherwise I would suggest a shared trip sometime.
The good thing about Taunton is that there are a number of choices available to suit different conditions:
Long calm spell - East Devon
Easterly winds - Chesil Cove or Thurlestone
Westerly winds - Torbay

Cheers Spiderman,

Much appreciate the info!!!!

Mid week diving...mmmmmmm will have to score major points with the girlfriend to wangle that one, but a shared trip sometime would be great - even a pint sometime might not go a miss seeing as you are in taunton as well!

Nick
