I just picked up one of these low volume masks in black. It fit my face too good to not buy it. Anyone have any experience with them? Good or bad.

It's the same design (almost exactly) as the Aqualung Micromask, but with stiffer silicone, but with 1/2 the price!

There are 2-3 others that share the same mold... But rumour has it that one of them (Spetton Minimax) has softer silicone.

There is so little silicone to compress on this mask anyhow, that I doubt it will have much effect.

This is a great mask for underwater hockey or rugby or diving up to 25m or so (spearfishing)...

Despite the very low volume, I find it needs frequent equalization, due to low compressability.

Great fit on my narrow face and fantastic peripheral vision!

Thanks for the response apneaddict. I got this mask in hopes of reducing the equalizations of the mask over my non low volume mask i use now so hopefully its somewhat better. And like you i have a narrow face so this mask fits great.

Make no mistake / it's a great mask and I'm SURE ppl here have taken it below 50-60M...

It's super low volume!
You may still need to equalize it the same # of times... But with much less air!

I find the cressi superocchio and Sporasub Mystic to be almost as low volume... But much more compressible. Both fit my narrow face.

I think I'm sensitive to sinus pressure and need to equalize a mask more than others to be in comfort.

Thats good to hear reducing the amount of air needed to equalize the mask should be a big help. The mask im using now feels like it takes half my lung capacity lol.

I've just got the Spetton minimask, I still have to test and compare to my friend's Aqualung micromask. I've heard that Italian professional spearfisher Davide Carrera(if I recall the name correctly) went down to 99m in CWT at Vertical Blue a few years ago, without packing mind you :D
