I just got the "Offical" conditions for the Madison lakes thanks to Ted (unirdna)- our inside man at the UW. He can't go diving this weekend, something about going on a "drunk" up in the twin cities this weekend, but did pass on this bit of info:

Mendota - 3.1m - still a week or two away - not quite good enough yet
Monona - 5.5m - clearwater phase - go
Waubesa - 3.5m - next week will be prime
Kegonsa - 1.9m

It looks like Lake Monona is the place to be. Waubesa would be my second choice since it has SO many fish in it and will go green before to long- and stay that way for the rest of the year.

Anyone interested, or have a cleaner lake to jump in right now?

I've got to watch my kids. ;)

I just took a ride around the lake and the water is clear underneath all those whitecaps. I see the outlet is on and there are some monster size muskies hanging out there. If the wind would die down a bit it would be pretty nice.

I have Sunday open.

I can't make it this weekend- I have off Monday/Tuesday, I'll be down there Monday afternoon. I think it might rain Tuesday. I'll see as it gets closer and how the weather plays out.

I heard on the radio today that this weekend is opening weekend for fishing. Does anyone know if that's true?

If it is, I don't care how clear that water is, I won't be going near a lake- too many bad experiences with drunken fisherman.:rcard
