Ey oop folks of the delightful island of Guernsey.:friday

I've been working over there for a few weeks but unfortunately flew in. I'm home at moment but coming back out there in a week........but this time in the van with my dive gear!!

Not sure how much diving/fishing people do there at this time of year but I'm off in for a mooch around anyway as working next to the sea all day is torture without being able to go in.

I just wondered if anyone was in the water and didn't mind a foreigner tagging along for a bit of local knowledge. I'll be working on the cliffs near the bathing pools, (aquarium road), over the coming weeks so if anyone is going out and doesn't mind showing me around that would be a reet bonus! pop along and give me a :wave if your passing.

anyway ttfn :zzz

Warro,

Always happy to jump in, as long as the wind doesn't go too mad. Give me a shout when you fancy a go, I am self employed so can sometimes skive off during the day. Happy to go in at night too if you have a torch. All pm's answered.

cheers guys!

I'll be in touch!

Night/eve dives sound good. No torch but something I wouldn't mind gettin hold of if the dive shops there have any decent ones.

Will be evenings for me (after 4) and sat afternoons and sundays.

Fingers crossed for good weather for the next month!

I can lend you two torches.
I guess you'll be passing Sheffield on the way.

Cheers Edin that would be great! Didn't know you were back?
I'll give you a ring at the end of the week. I'm workin down near Preston at the minute so might try and arrange to collect on way back up??

You still at ponds forge on a friday?

Not fancy a quick spell in Guernsey? All that spare time you have on your hands these days! ;-)

lol! No but something I'd love to learn if you want a laugh and have a beginner board to lend!! :blackeye :)

Shame you are not here for this weekend as we have the best ormering tides of the year, 10.2 mt rise & fall on Sunday!
Nice waves today jonny but not like in 08 - here is a pic right on top of my fave bass spot!!

Yeah the lads at work were telling me about that. Gutted as never tried them. That looks like great surf.......not that I know what I'm looking at but it looks like its breaking nicely!

unfortunately you can only eat ormers on certain allocated days - you can take them tomorrow Sat & Sun but they must be consumed withing 3 days after the last official tide ie next Wednesday.
However they are a culinary delight & surprisingly taste nothing like fish!
Anyhow I am up for meeting you sometime, where are you staying?

Abbey, just past the top of Viccy Rd, Peters Port.

I'll prob be busy and not divin (unless the conditions are just to good to resist! :) )for next week as bringin family over for half term too.

Can still hook up for a brew or beer though one eve if you are about?

Nothing is for free mate - I expect decent report with photos as a payment for gear rental. :D
