Hi all, since some time i'm thinking to make a sled so i was looking on the net for check out if i can take some info ffrom some project and make one by myself. The structural project is not a problem, my problem was about the brake, i mean i would like to make one with the possibiblity of slowing down, i'had thinked to use a mechanism similar to the bycicle one. Anyone has already builded one? Tyvm for ya info.

Oh i forgot to mention that soon i'll post my project so if u want u can give me some advices :D

Oh tyvm that's what i was looking for, didn't thinked about the sailing world, that will be perfect! i was sure that posting here was a great idea!

Hi,

Here are pictures showing a very good sled, with a different breaking mechanism. having tried both this and the clutch approach, we always end up having reliability issues with clutches.

Hi Fabrice, could you explain how the brake works? thanks

Hi,

we would also like to make freediving sled but we don't have any detiled plan ... isit possible to get one?

Best regards from Slovenia, Rok

There are no detailed plans for these because no one wants to be responsible for every joe on the interweb trying to kill themselves by making a death sled like this.

Just make sure you have a good life insurance policy and an FRVin place first, because insurance companies dont pay out when there are no bodies, and your family shouldn't be responisbe for footing your bill.

Hi, Tony

Thank you for your answare and comment but that don't help me at all...
I think everybody who is in apnea he is aware of thin line betwean life and death...but I think it's much safer then driving a car?

Best regards from Slovenia, Rok

Okay you quoted me, but i dont actually think you ready anything i said. people dont post these sled plans up because they will get sued the second some retard kills himself doing this. You dont need to explain to me about safety.

If you really want to make your own death sled, get a 5 gallon bucket, pour in some concrete and shove a galvanized steel pole and ride that bitch down. a 40cf tank and connected to a semi trucks tire tube or blatter of sorts is all the lift itll need to bring your death sled back up the surface. I have a few ideas for a brake system, but i think what i gave you already is enough to hurt yourself.

Good luck. Id also suggest NOT posting your results, the last thing this industry needs is more kids on the interweb following suit, and making their own death sled. Sorry if this sounds harsh, but you dont know what you dont know, and if you came online to ask the kinds of questions you have already, its clear you are out of your element. Id just stick with line diving if anything. What you are trying to do requires a special type of safety backups and multiple divers in the water to aid should you have a problem.

With all these videos you see online which incorporate sled diving..tell me what else you see (in the background)...ill give you a hint, it starts with about a dozen or more of other people backing you up and a few safety boats, multiple divers and deco plans and stops for each one. There are safety protocols and many other things you have not at all considered while attempting to make your death sled.

Seriously for you safety and for your loved ones, and all the members of this board, i seriously want you to reconsider this 'death sled' project of yours. Please...
