Making a monofin

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.

Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone has successfully made their own monofin? I really want to get my own but can't afford a new one and I can't find any second hand ones so I was contemplating making my own. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated

Have you looked at the Waterway Monofins? They really aren't all that much and every one that I know that is using them likes them. I just bought one and at $150.00 USD it didn't break me. If you do a search here you'll find some fins that have been made by people here on Deeper Blue. Good luck. Let us all know how you end up making out .

thanks for that, Ill take a look at them. Unfortunatly $150 is still a lot of money for me, so I'm still looking, but I thought someone on here must have a second hand one that they dont use or doest fit? I'd also take a repairable one too, but I guess everyone hangs onto them.

I was thinking more like a carbon fibre sheet, cut to shape with some old fin foot pockets joined to the carbon fibre fin, either using some form of chemical bonding or bolts? I've been looking in the forums and have been seeing how other people have managed it too....looks like a mission but worthwile!
