I can't get an off-the-peg wetsuit, as I'm not a standard size (6'7") I've looked into a custom suit, but at £180+ that's a bit out of my price range as I'm a student and maybe dive once a month on average at the moment.

I'm pretty good with making stuff, so I was wondering if anyone has any info/tips on going about making the wetsuit? Any links to where I can buy good quality neoprene off the roll and get a pattern would be a great help also.

Mart you are AMAZING! how you keep going with the plug for those guys, i hope you get a HUGE discount
Joking aside, i saw omd's suit when he got it and it was a good quality suit, so thumbs up from here too
I quite like the idea of making a suit, but there is NO WAY that you could make one better and for less than a hundred squids [imo]. You could always look around for a 2h suit? whats your size?
btw being a student is about having an overdraft/loan/debt, and you know you will never have as much time as whilst 'studying'
good luck.

Its my job to help out folk on the forum Jonny but, yes you would of thought Diveskin would of given me a free suit by now!
Truth is I really do think the suits are increadable for the price!

Those wetsuits seem a good price, I'll look further into that. As for 2h suit, I've been trawling ebay but to no avail- a freedive/spearo suit in my size seems a bit of a rareity. I'm 6'7" tall, 36" waist, inside leg 36".

you could always buy a pair of waders and walk out with a glass bottom bucket....

some of my best fish have been taken in less than 6ft of water

Hi, making a suit would take alot of time and being honest with the cost of neoprene, glue and stitching you would be better getting a MTM from Diveskin, Im 6ft 76 and 23st, so not a typical off the peg size and Im getting a MTM, I repair suits for scuba and I think unless you are a skilled hand at cutting (and get a template for a suit too) then stick to the advise you got on the £115 suit, sounds really good value.
