I've recently put back to use an old carbon Eurogun I got from a friend who found it in the back of his garage... The thing hadn't seen the light of the day for years, so I had to change the head, fix the reel, change the rubbers, oil, clean etc. Got some nice fish with it already but there is a bit of problem with the handle which is quite slippery since it is wrapped in layers of "original" ducktape that were put on it years back to hold it in one piece. I'm about to fix that final detail and I'm wondering if anyone could perhaps offer a good tip on making the handle less slippery and more of a "sure hold". I was thinking along the lines of smearing silicone over it and giving it a bit of a rough texture in this way but there are probably better DIY methods. Would be grateful for any suggestions. Happy hunting everyone!

Coat in Mcnett aquaseal then dip in a bucket of sand and leave to try. sand will be stuck in the aquaseal and the aquaseal to the handle therefore giving a very grippy surface. other option is to use silicone or some other similar compound, but it looks pretty cool and works well.

Hi
I've wrapped my gungrip with rubber bicycle innertube, it was meant to just be a hasty fix before a divetrip, but it has been there ever since :)
The rubber adds friction, and with multiple layers you can regulate gripsize.
No noticeable extra wear on my gloves so far (one year)
And easy dismantling

The Kinderegg experience altogether
