Hey Dudes and Dudettes, I just finished talking with Jim from Mako as he was answering some of my questions. Nice guy that knows his stuff. I was just wondering who on the Board has fired/bought a Mako? What did you like/dislike? Pros and Cons? Anything really. This is a huge purchase for me and i want the right gun for a low price.
P.s. Please leave the chinese comments at the door. I have no time or need for lies or racial comments. Thx.:naughty

its a rabitec. the us distributor is calling them mako. those are excellent guns in the euro railgun category. equal to a rob allen, or high end omer. great prices on that website too! i just ordered some stuff and got it fast.i give it a "thumbs up!"

I own the 80 CM W/reel, I have only fired it in the pool but its a great gun. The only thing I have to compare it to was my JBL woody sawed off mag and the Mako puts it to shame, even though the JBL was more expensive. The mako has a comfortable handle, tons of power, floats after fired (W/O reel), uses a Rob Allen shaft and its very accurate. The best part for me is that Dano custom built my gun to my specs right in front of me (I visited his warehouse). I like the fact that I can build my own bands and now that I have used corded wishbone bands I prefer them over articulating or metal wishbones.
Here is something else that might interest you. Dano helps the community every chance he gets. Occasionally he auctions off a speargun and donates 100% of the sale price to charity. Normally he donates to the fisher house to support military families but this time he is holding a special auction to help a spearo in Hawaii who has brain cancer. If you want to bid on that package you can get more info here:
MAKO Spearguns - Ebay Auctions
Good luck on your choice and I know you want be disappointed w/ the quality or the customer service you will receive from Mako spearguns. You might find that your hardest choice w/ be what size gun you want, how many bands and how long you want the bands cut.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
BTW... I have no affiliation w/ Mako other than my 2 purchases through him. I stay in contact w/ dano through E-mail and look forward to hunting w/ him some day.

High end OMER my foot! RA yes, and no argument on it being a strong work horse of a gun that will serve you well, but to call it the equivelent of a "heigh end Omer" is not accurate, other than they both have raiol barrels nothing else is even remotely similar, the handles of the cayman guns are superior in comfort and hand alignment in my opinion.

but i'll leave the OMER comments now.

as for the MAKO/Rabitech (which ever other brand wants to use Mr Hu) products are strong work horse guns not supremly sophisticated but designed for a purpose and good at that purpose. so i dont think you can really go wrong particularly not for the price.

You can be sure that racial comments are never tolerated on this forum.
As for lies, we don't have a "lie detector" kit. We must rely on the honesty of the people who post.

I ordered 2 rubber weight belts from them and delivery was quick! The belts are very nice and stretchy and the cheapest around. $25. There is no need to spend more money on a belt. My Rob Allen belt is such crap. It's not stretchy and more expensive.

I got a free hat with my order too. The hat is also good quality.

I would buy again. A++++

Dano over at Mako is a standup guy! I've been going back and fourth with him on a few products some which will soon be unvieled. Mako is out there trying to provide a quality product at an affordable price, and frankly they are shifting the market to our favor, KUDOS for that! As a new boy on the block, Mako is doing it the right way and its paying off- everyone I know thats dealt with them and their products has only good things to say.:friday

I have the predator 90 w/reel 20mm rubber and closed muzzle. It is very accurate.
