Guys,

I need your help again Euro Spearos... i need information on the listed Mamba 110 pnuematic speargun. i have heard that this gun shoots very powerful 6.5 or 7mm shaft. i wrote to MaoriSub and a person by the name of Enzo wrote back. His english was a little hard to understand. He explain that the gun was 44' american inches and size. That it shot 6.5 and 7 mm shaft, now comes the hard part. I could not understand how it compares to the Mares 1100 ? Is it harder to load then the Mares ? And could not understand how much american dollars for it ? He explain it was 1,30 euro dollars multiplied by something sorry guys could not make it out for the life in me. Also avalibility, how could i order one if interested ?

Thanks Manny

I was checking the old forums and noticed that ShaneShac has a Mamba 90. Please can you give me some information on the gun, as to what i need to know in my posting. Also more info on the Seac-sub Asso ?

Thanks Manny

Manny,

I already send you a PM with some information regarding the Mamba.
I can tell you a lot about the Mamba but if you want an opinion of a different person (who do not sell equipment) Shane in Giblartar is a veeeery good source of information.

Regards

Ivan

Hi Manny,

the mamba 110 is exactly the same size as the mares cyrano 1100.

Is fires a 6.5mm shaft or 7mm shaft, but for 7mm shaft go for the magnum version as it has a normal sized barrel and balances a lot better. The normal mamba has a 35mm barrel (magnum 40mm) and this really helps the handling.

Due to the lack of water in the piston chamber, the piston does not have to do any work expeling water. This reduces recoil and greatly increases the shaft speed. It also helps the balancing of the gun.

We are talking 6m shots here

What type of fish are you planning to catch?

Shane,

I'm doing mostly reefs and wrecks dives now, but expect to due some open water too. Could this gun Mamba 110 handle AJs, Grouper 30lbs+ big Hogs, ocassional big Cudas ? And is it true that this gun can be fired outside of the water ? Are the Mambas as hard or harder to load then the Cyranos ?

Thanks Manny

Hi Manny,

If i were you i would go with a Mares Sten 115/ Seac Asso 115 and set it up with the mamba kit. The 13mm piston, as opposed to 11mm in mamba and cyrano, will give you a lot more power and you can load it hard without getting into dangerous pressures.

It will easily handle big AJ, grouper etc. Even a tuna with an 8mm shaft

A normal mamba 110 is the same as loading a 110 cyrano although mamnba are usually used at less pressure so makes loading easier.

Over here we are using mamba 110 with 6.5mm shafts for spearing Dentex up to and over 10kilos at 5m from speartip.

you should give him a link of your long range dentex shoot with mamba was it 110? I even thought the fish dissappeared then you pulled the trigger and it was on the line :hmm

Manny his seac 115 with the mamba kit is awesome! I shot a grouper with it from 5m and believe me i was more surprised than the grouper when it was looking me on the shooting line

I think they are really really good guns with price/performance ratio playing to top. I also bought one mamba 110 to my dad who enjoys it upto last bit (shane will know what i mean hahahhaha)

I think this topic is little over due. But It is a new issue for me. One of my friend is recommending me to get Morisub Mamba and telling me with mamba kit which makes gun have higher performance. whereas I was thinking to get Mares cyrano. My quetion is:

1) Excluding kit, which one is recommended, Cyrano or Maorisub.

2) Mamba kit, is it an attachment that can be adapted to both? Mares Cyrano as well.

3) Price wise, Mares Cyrano (85cm) cost 180USD in USA. How about Maorisub Mamba, where can we buy cheaply, considering USA and Europe.

İf any one help me, I will appreciate very much.

Thanks,

Guven

Hope this help you.

Ivan

Out of curiosity - what is the effective range of an 850 cyrano with mamba loaded to reasonable loading pressure (I think this gun can be hip-loaded - so maybe it can be loaded pretty high)?

For a Mamba gun of 90 cms long "Well" loaded the range is 5 meters (15 FT).

Forget about load a pneumatic from the hip, at least a long one 100 and up.
if it is loaded with more than 22 bars (323 psi) you will not be able to push the shaft into the barrel in one motion.

I've just purchased a Mares Cyrano 970mm. Mainly hunting grouper, baracuda, trevally up to 12-15kgs. What advantages would I get by fitting a mamba kit? Would it compromise reliability in any way? Cheers,
