Mares Apnea Float?

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I had one on order early last spring, but guess what? At that time, the product didn't exist yet other than on catalogues, not in real life. So I finally had to cancel the order.
After that, the first Apnea's slowly started production and are now finally available. I'd give it a shot, but in the meantime I've bought a different one.
What I liked of the Mares Apnea is its being compact, totally deflatable to be transported (deflated) in my bag, but still with room for storing stuff and attachments for spare guns.
I don't know how it behaves inchoppy water (seems quite light), but I still guess that, with a little ballast, it can be very practical and a good float option for that price.

all those inflatables burst sooner rather than later. doubt they last more that a year. if you spear like every other weekend or more, buy a foam filled, bladder filled or rigid (boat type) float.

Thanks for the replies guys, another thing i like about the float is that it deflates and folds, i was also reading jon's post on the best hunter and might be considering it also. The boat filled float is actually my first choice but its too bulky to be carrying it around on a taxi. I really need to get a damn driving license.

Cheers

Reactions: spaghetti
I agree, solid floats have their advantages but I feel glad that I have a simple, light, folding float that fits in my small swim bag with my mask, snorkel, gloves, a small water bottle every time I face a long or awkward walk in to a dive site.

That's indeed the big "Plus" of compact inflatable floats.
