I have a Mares M1 RGBM computer and was wondering if anyone knows if you can use the standard IR port on a PC to download the logs to the IRIS application.

Scubaman,

It is my understanding you cannot use a standard infared reader from a computer. I am not a computer teckie, but I've read other posts from people that have tried. Some have built their own although it didn't sound that easy. We have a new Iris download hardware w/ USB connector, just recently launched. Retail is about $120. Software is downloadable from the Mares website.

Best,

Zak

Thanks for the info, I have downloaded the software already, do you know if some one has instructions on building one? I am and electronics engineer so if someone know the components i could knock one up, and maybe do them for others as well if they wanted them.

Thanks

Kevin.

Please let me know your results. I'm pretty handy with a soldering iron too, but couldn't find all the components in the referenced circuit (the IR diodes that he recycled from an old remote). Thanks!
