Just recently purchased the Mares Phantom FV 75 speargun and its on its way to me. Was just wondering if anyone has it or had it and has any views on it?

Luke.

I have the 95 carbon and its a really good gun. There is some disconcerting stuff about flexing on the the internet, but trust me, it doesn't flex when actually loaded. Its a very accurate gun, the trigger release is very very light and its well balanced in the water, it also is very very quiet. My only criticism is the terrible instructions which come with it. Its a good gun though... it also looks very cool which is nice.

I just got my Phantom FV 75 and the instructions stinks. How did you manage to put it together in the end? Did you find any help on the internet?

A bit of trial and error at first. I now use the mono with a shock cord and some swivels. Keep it open muzzle, dont add the closure as it screws up the accuracy. Look at the internet for rigging an open muzzle gun if you dont know the system. It involves wrapping the cord over the shaft. I believe there were some grainy pictures of it loaded as open muzzle in the 'instructions'.
