Im not sure if this is the right place to ask this but i have been looking around at freediving/scuba masks and i saw the movie called Into the Blue and i really liked the mask that Paul walker used throughtout the movie. I know that he had a hair saver strap attached to it but i really want to know the brand and model of the mask cos it looked like a quality mask. Any suggestions will be muchly appreciated.

thanks in advance,
Rob

I will have a look for you. I dont know what i will come up with, but its another excuse to watch a favorite movie of mine :D.

I dont know if you are interested, but the fins that he uses (which look invisible underwater) are made by "omer" and the model is "ice".

The one movie that got me into freediving, hehe.

But as for the mask, I bet it is Scubapro CrystalVu. It looks damn similar at least. I'm planning to get the clear version of this mask in summer just for snorkeling becouse it has such a large field of vision. The volume of the mask seems to be quite big though.

Yeah he uses the scubapro mask and Cressi Gara 3000 Fin's, while Jessica Alba is using the Omer Ice fins.

great thanks. this is also my favourite movie. i used to be into racing until i saw this movie. i love it. great thanks for such a quick response. its i nice mask, ill have a look around in local shops. as for the fins, the cressi gara 3000's are bloody nice. and the Omer ice looks so awesome underwater. thanks alot guys

cheers!

Not to cause havick but I gave "Into the Blue" a watch and in the underwater scenes with Paul Walker you can clearly see the brand name on the dive mask. It appears to be an Oceanic Mask but an older version, in which the Oceanic Ion 4 Mask looks most similar in the clear frame version. Anywasy hope this helps as I have been looking into the same mask.

Yeah I know, I am just saying I saw the words OCEANIC written on the top left hand side of his mask in the scenes when he is underwater and there are the close ups on his face. As I am interested in getting the same mask, I thought that the OCEANIC ION 4 with a clear frame would suite me best in regards to the mask Paul Walker wore. Walkers must have been using an old version because the film was filmed a few years ago now and you can't find the exact one anywhere. Thats just my opinion. But yeah the ones you guys brought up, ScubaPro Crystal Vu, will do the job. Just stating that the mask was an OCEANIC. Cheers.

On the Crystal Vu, I had a weird experience with it. Snorkeling thru some old dock pilings, the mask would get a weird reflection that looked like one of the pilings comming up from the bottom towards me in my pereferal vision. It was the reflection of one of the pilings thru the side window onto the main window. It gave me the creeps, and I had to move out of the pilings.

Yeah, at times (rarely), I use a clear skirted/framed mask for SCUBA, but generally don't reccommend it. Black is good for cutting out the glare.
