Hello all,

I am ready to begin getting some equipment to start some pool work to build to free diving, my issue is that I have a pretty full beard that I do not want to shave, does anyone have a good mask idea? Would a goggle type work with a nose plug ( because of the beard)

Thanks Greg

I have a full beard and have found that the best way round this is to trim a small amount of hair from just under the nose to allow a seal. It doesn't really effect the look of your beard but works a treat. Goggles can be dived with but are limited as you cant equalise the air pressure within the goggles as there is no nose piece. There are many threads on diving with goggles on this forum, in my opinion as someone with a beard, trim a bit as suggested above and see how you go. I find that with trimming under the nose I can get a seal with everything from Hot Tuna masks through to Omer Bandits and up to Hollis M1 with no problems whatsoever............... good luck and dive safe:D
