On my daily browes at spearguns on ebay I found the listing.

They are not knock offs they are genuine Omer Master America guns but the european model, ie Grey imports.

If they arent knockoffs what is the reason for a warning from Omer USA on ebay- or am I missing something?

Charlie.

"IF" is the question? From another thread I posted yesterday on the subject:

"About the gun on EBay, that's just it, we don't know and we're not taking chances. I got a memo from Italy a couple months ago saying that someone in Greece was making knock-offs of the barrels and putting Omer parts on them. No offense to Greeks please, but there are several companies in Greece that specialize in knocking off Omer's products so its better to be safe than sorry. We are not going to take the chance of servicing or dealing with issues with anyones guns when we don't know where they came from."

By all means buy the gun if you want it, it's a free market! but know that neither us Omer USA nor Omer Spa. is claiming any responsibility or servicing anyone's unhappy purchase if it turns out it's not what its supposed to be.

Mark

Thats fair enough, Buyer beware.
I understand where Mark and Omer USA is coming from on this issue, If a Guy decides to buy 6 Master America's in europe and sell them in the USA it is Grey Importing or non-official importing of an Official product.
He may or may not stand by the product depending on what type of dealer he is.
we had a big court case here not so long ago where Tesco (big supermarket) wanted to Import and sell Jeans from a well known Denim maker.
Apparently there is a huge Jeans stockpile in the US for some reason.
The upshot was that they were not allowed to because they had circumvented the Manufacturer-Wholesaler-Retailer chain and it was going to damage the brand.

Hi Huan,

Isnt this guy just a private seller trying to sell his speargun???

Maybe I missed something in a previous thread that indicated otherwise??

If this is this case that he is a private seller, seems that his chances of selling his speargun has been severely diminished or does he have a history of selling these guns?

There are probably ways to check out his history that may have indicated to you that he has been selling these guns in the past. Is this the case? The warning seems to be regarding it being a knockoff and not about unfair trade . A bit confusing.

Curious, Charlie.
