Meandros Trigger Mech Install for Rob Allen Vecta 2 handle.

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Wicked stuff bloke a lot of help for a DIY project so much appreciated and love your workshop... only improvement I could think of was one of those little beer fridges... big thanks again!

Interesting but 9:50 minutes w/o even covering removal of the original trigger mech. is too long for my tastes.
[BTW Wouldn't the trigger work fine without all the grinding?] Funky paint job :)

Thats because you should already be capable of removing the mech before starting this...I left that out because i made a video just before on how to remove it. Despite how self explanatory it actually is

Here's a video since youre having issues with removal, sorry its long and boring... again....

Nice choice kytony - I recommended this mech last week to a mate who was thinking about upgrading his RA90.

BTW Wouldn't the trigger work fine without all the grinding?

No, one of the main points of the upgrade is that the Meandros is a reverse trigger mech, so you get a muuuuch longer band pull compared to the standard RA mech - with the right spear, the final notch should be right above the actual trigger - based on upgrading from a standard RA shaft, it should give you an extra 13 - 14cm of band pull.

A shorter video here:

^^ funny guy :) Yeah they really are a nice upgrade, I highly recommend them.

mrX You could get away with cutting less material then i did by figuring where you notches are and tapering around there. But even then, you'll have a little ridge or overlap somewhere. Next time ill shave a little less off and make the taper less of an angle. But some trimming certainly is needed.

Thanks kwtony. I already know how to remove an RA trigger mech - I had to switch one some years ago [search: RA trigger mech on the forum for more on that] - but it seem like an odd omission, given the generous length of the video*.

* Personal preference: I prefer youtube videos that are short (e.g. 30 sec-2.5 minutes) , my time is short (old guy now) and there are lots of things to see. If folk have something useful to show/tell, it seems they can usually get it out in 2.5 minutes - more than that usually suggests to me (from experience): diminishing returns, padding and/or lack of preparation/editing. That's not to say there aren't some great longer videos on youtube, and that a few things need more time, it's just that the vast majority could do with a little (or a lot of) editing down. This is more an observation about youtube in general - I'm sure anybody undertaking such an change will be glad to get all the detail they can get.
