Headed out yesterday to a beautiful day out in the ocean with Alan new DB member.

Seas were flat, later in the afternoon picked up to 3's, vis was top-bottom in 20's with some areas hazy, but shootable, temp was comfy in a rash guard on top a bit nippy on bottom, Alan had a 1.5mm and he felt perfect with it.

Made a few drops on the Run&Gun to 25'...Hogs are definitely in... so nows the time to get a trophy in shallower waters final tally on a 5 hour hunt

2 Reds (one to 8#'s)
8 hogs (2 over 3 #'s)
1 mut
3 go's (if I recall correctly)

hopefully Alan will post some pix

btw we saw plenty of shootable fish, so the season is kicking off well...till next time!

Thanks for the great day out there Tone.
Fish were abundant, and the weather was great.

Good Times.

Alan

ahh well look who chimed in...the one upper...your welcome aboard the R&G anytime Vera...thanx for the tag team effort on that Red...the moray surely added an element of surprise huh?

Nice Hogs!!

Looks like u settled some steel in'm.

I went out on Wed. It was sweet.
The Impaler

yep it was pretty good, but tue seemed even better...we could have probably doubled that amt of hogs, we also saw a few very decent macs and a couple of muts over 30...but you know them boys can read and write, the 8# Red was a 45min mission, but we tagged teamed him and finally extracted him from his gill-hooked hole (I hate the ocean to claim whats mio).

BTW RG welcome to DB...hope to see some of your "Impaler Reports":friday

Very nice day on the water, diggin the hoggies and redz. I was out on Tuesday and did alright with some cero mackz and a big margate, some hogs and a black but you guys did some serious damage :martial

BTW went to my room and measured your fish on my gara 3000s lol

que chismosorofl...those 2 picopatos were decent...we saw a couple of nice macs but they didn't want to get aquainted

Ventured out of KB yesterday with Alan (vera) thru BearCut to meet pristine hunt conditions...on the Run&Gun! Water was fresh in the high 70's, seas under 2, and surprisingly milky vis till the last 10'. Hunted a few excellent patch reefs to about 30', and plotted some new #'s including a pipe with over 100bugs
eek.gif
.... Conditions turned at about 3'ish so we headed in.
Alan stoned a plump (shy of 13# on the boga)26" Red...inches from its hole...way to save the grief Alan
smthumbup.gif
, we shot a few other nice fish including a 21" hog and 23" margate...Muts was high on the list, but saw only one shorty, we saw plenty of legal female hogs but decided to pass them up...All in all it was a great day out of this little pressured Key.

Bang, Bang...on Independence Day

Headed out yesterday with Alan for early start on the 4th. After about a 20 minute wait at the ramp we finally set the Run&Gun, and trusted companion BatWing in the water, and followed the brigade of boaters outa GC. Conditions were calm with alot of grey and light showers....but we had No Fear, as we headed towards the blue in search of some Dorado. We searched high and low for weedlines and birds, but nothing was forming we did see a big palm frond (reaked of Dorados) although fool of bait fish had nothing to offer....by now our trigger finger was itching and the sun blessed us with its smile so we ventured on South to some patch reefs....vis was amazing top to bottom everywhere we dropped, rash guard tempt, with lazy 3-4'ers, ....did some extended drift hunts which were quite productive. Saw a few big sharks and Al had a "walk (better said run) on water" experience with a 10' HH...
eek.gif
. We saw a 8' thigh thick moray stalking a hog that unfortunately was robbed of its meal, seemed the ocean was alive, active and well...we called it quits about 3'ish when the party brigade's alcohol started to kick in.
