Mid Handle Guns

I've seen Riffe's Mid Handle Series and it seems these guns would be significantly easier to manuever (more leverage). However, i have not seen anyone building one for themself. Is there a particular reason for this and if so, why? Also, can the same type trigger mechanism be used for these guns as typical guns or does it require a special type mechanism?

A special trigger mechanism as the trigger farther forward from where the spear notches in and needs to be released from. Wong Spearguns makes good triggers I have heard.
I haved used mid handle guns but I prefer euro style guns myself. Better for deep diving and different types of shooting. Mid Handles do have their purpose though.

you can use a standard trigger mech as long as it is contained in in in own housing, like those used in a riffe gun, you simply mount it as usual at the rear of the gun and using a router you make a rebate or groove to the position were you would like to mount your handle, I then use apiece of stainless rod about a quarter inch to connect it to were the remote trigger will be, I usually make another triigger from the same rod and bend it to the desired shape and drill a small hole in it to mount it to the gun and cut another hole with the router to mount the trigger in, it is best not to cut the connecting rod to length until you have fitted the remote trigger, I usually make anice handle by glueing plywwod together to I have the desired thickness and custom shape it to my preference, you may also need to make a small piece of metal to stop the rod from falling out,if you have not done this before it can be a little bit of trial and error and I suggest that you make a mockup on some scrap wood, it is not difficult though but a router will make the job easy, ANDREW
