I'm in the Midwest USA. I'm new to SCUBA & hope to start spearfishing. Last year was my first year to use SCUBA to noodle catfish. Zero visibility but loads of fun.

I just got a Nemrod Fusil speargun that hasn't been used in 20 years. I am interested in information on the gun especially how to operate it & ideas for repairs if it isn't working. I may be missing something since I can't figure out how to pump air into it.

I joined Deeper blue just to get help on this subject. Any ideas?

Thanks...

Hello there,
I too am in the midwest, Davenport Iowa to be exact. Where are you located. I am headed to CA may 15 for some hunting. may not get back to you till I return.

Hi Scoodler, can you post pics of your Nemrod? I have a couple of these Spanish guns and they are pretty easy to get up and running. At the back of the gun is a threaded opening, this is where the pump screws into the air chamber.Hand pump about ten pumps into the gun, then immerse only the muzzle into a bucket of water, If you see a steady stream of bubbles, the small O rings on the piston need to be replaced. There are inexpensive repair kits available. Extracting the piston is very simple. I have exploded view schematics of some of the Nemrods.

I'm right in the corner of SE Kansas. I've dove some local strip pits & a couple dive lakes in Arkansas. I'm hoping to go back armed with a speargun to hunt down some fish!

Sling Shaft I have a picture of my speargun but can figure out how to paste it. Any ideas? I don't have a pump that goes into the back of the gun unless it is attached.

Aloha and welcome to DB

posting pics is quite simple. Click the "post reply" button and if you scroll towards the bottom of the page you will see a link that says "manage attachments" click on that and it will take you to the upload page. Keep in mind that the pics cant be anymore than 1024 Pix x 1024pix. You can re-size your images in just about any image editing program.

Good luck

Thanks Blaiz! That wasn't bad.

I have attached a picture of the speargun.
