I recently acquired a new monofin that is not bending optimally.

It is a very wide model (90 cm) and when using it, the tips lag behind the rest of the fin (bending, not "cupping", and then the fin starts to fold / dome), thus leading to reduced efficiency.

There are 2 ways I'm thinking of attacking the issue:

Put a strip of sail-tape on the trailing edge of the fin, just to strengthen / stiffen the thinnest part of the fin. The hope is to reinforce this part to prevent as much flex, without significantly stiffening the fin.

The second approach, is to add the "protective edge / beading" to the sides of the monofin. This fin does not yet have it in place. I hope that it will reinforce the outer edge of the blade a bit and prevent the buckling on the side-plane of the fin.

What material should I use for the side edging? I looked at some others and it looks like small-gauge tubing.
Also - what's the best way of attaching it to the fin? Any glue suggestions?
