Missing Spearo

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
The chap is still missing I believe and appeals are being made to the public for any information. Hope it works out for him and his family.

Is anyone here familiar with the area? Is it generally hazardous?

Bad news indeed, sympathy to the family. Sorry for your loss to anyone that reads this who knew Andrew personally.

Sad news indeed. The story came up on the Dorset thread too, I was following it there. I dive (& kayak) there sometimes (Ringstead Bay) although not as far round as he was found (White Nothe). The bay itself is quite sheltered. I wonder if he blacked out (SWB)?

Totally agree, I tether gun to float line only so if it gets stuck I can surface quickly and retrieve later if needed. However that has its own issues if a drama unfolds !!

Absolutely you have to do what is right for yourself. I also have the gun-line-float setup. My buddy has gun to 1m of line to weight belt and float line tethered to weight belt too. He says he's confident of ditching the belt via the quick release, thus being free from any lines.

However it unfolded it is a tragic outcome for all involved. Not sure that the causes of this tragedy should really be speculated about on an open forum????
Surely an inquest will be held which will uncover the reason and make it open for public discussion in due course???
Obviously this is only my opinion on the matter.
