Hi all

I recently purchased an old 1.4 woody (Clubman) to be precise. I got is for $10US off ebay due to the trigger mechanism needing replacement. The gun is an entry level woody speargun and I am pretty sure it is made of relatively crappy wood.

I originally bought it because I thought it would be some fun doing it up and modifying it. I dont quite have the technical knowlege or tools to build a gun frm the ground up. I thought buying a gun that I could fix up would be a start.

Bascially what i wanted to know what what makes a good woody? What can I do to improve this gun? Should I be looking along the lines of building a teak barrell? Buying a good handle and new mechanism. Your advise would be greatly apperciated.
