is there any place where on can get training/coaching on monofin swimming ?
i'm thinking general technique work that could then be applied to either dynamic, constant or just messing around having fun, but knowing how to actually use a monofin properly.

You could check where your local finswimming club is and spend some time with them.

Would you travel to Russia? :)

If not, Athens will be your best bet I think. There are both freediving and finswimming clubs there

don't think i would travel to Russia but i do believe there are some good clubs in Athens.
having said that, after some research i did find a finswimming club in the biggest town of western Crete, in Hania (i live close to the capital, Heraklio, in the east). i love it when i'm wrong in such a way !
also, anyone familiar with Mike Maric ? he appears to have some very good credentials and runs finswimming courses (also in Greece).

Cool! Once you train with them for a bit, you can continue training alone (not apnea obviously) and then go back every now and then to check your technique.

You can improve a lot by just using a front snorkel and a pair of rubber training fins...

By the way :) bifins training not so far from Heraklio... ;-)

One thing's for sure, there is an endless supply of whining Greek songs lol

By the way :) just next two weeks I will freedive in the Libyan Sea (South Crete) (together with my wife, our elder son and his girl-friend ;)
Would be happy if anybody of Crete's freedivers had a jam session with us some day... ;)
