I noticed that there were a number of threads from NorCal guys lately, so I thought I'd give a quick point in the direction of our site.

We put the club together about a year ago. We started out as a group of friends who thought we might like getting together a little more often and talking shop, as well as offering some newer people a chance to get out with us and lend them a hand by showing them around a little bit. We've got about 20 members right now, and are always looking for more people to dive with.

Feel free to drop by the site, Monterey Bay Tritons - Monterey Bay Freedive Spearfishing club, or to drop me an e-mail any time you're gonna be in the area and are looking for a dive partner. twentytwomonk@yahoo.com

Hope to hear from some of you guys soon! Dive safe!

Well, being a Spanish linguist, I could probably struggle through some of it. But I appreciate the warm hello. It's been a while since I've heard from you!

Trying hard to keep it all together, I beg to be forgiven if now and then I get out of track, but anyway...
So what's this Monterey thing? I know you live there but I saw you where moving to Michigan or somewhere around the grand lakes...

I'm getting ready to get married, and geting out of the military in 2010, and we're looking at different places to live. We've looked at Northern Michigan and Florida so far. As long as I have somewhere to live and a decent job, I'm excited!

How're things on the other side of the world? Getting any diving in?

Getting any diving in?

Compulsively sharpening speartips as an after-dinner hobby, but that's all at the moment. The rest is rain, cold, work and family, but I'll have a 10 day holiday through Christmas, and then I shall see if I sharpened the speartips for something fishy... :)

Great news about you anyway. I went through that 4 yours ago, and everything changed for better: moved place, found good job, got married, made baby. You may have hard times along the process, but it's the best of life. When you pack your stuff and move hand in hand with your true love is a wonderful emotion. When you start the engine of the car and begin the long drive, oh well, you feel like you're born again. Great feeling. :)

Thanks for the kind words. I'm looking forward to it. Maybe one of these days, I'll get to take the trip I want to and actually get to dive over there in Italy, too!

I'll be in the area for Thanksgiving weekend and am looking for a freedive buddy (no spearing) at Point Lobos State Reserve (a buddy and reservations required). If anyone is interested, please let me know (via post or pm).

I can dive any of the days Friday - Sunday (11/26-11/28).

Thanks,

Scott
