Here are a few pics of a standard omer 90 air gun fitted with mamba kit & my latest custom model.

Very nice work, foxfish, but I would rather make the cone for the shaft more like original to better fit the piston.

I am sure you are right but the O rings hold the spear in place, I found the original fit far to tight, it was very difficult to unload the spear.
I made the elliptical shape by gluing wood to the guns barrel, I was ready to add some lead to balance the gun but amazingly the gun is still ever so slightly muzzle heavy!

I think it should be tight. It prevents possible shaft bending in the barrel while loading the gun, and maybe oscillations of the shaft after shooting.

foxfish, how did you manage not to lose the O-ring with the shaft without the butt?

Tromic, I had to modify the mamba system, there are two o rings fitted in the end of the barrel - there are no rings on the shaft.

How do you use the original mamba shaft with butt with that mamba modification? Do you use only the tovarich like shaft with your mamba 90 gun?

This is what I did - the shaft in the top of the pic shows the mamba components in place, the bottom of the pic shows how I turned the main body component around & fixed it in place with silicone & a screw.

Very interesting and simple solution, foxfish. Congratulation! Isn't only one O-ring sufficient? What is the advantage to the original mamba except lover noise?

One o ring would work if it was fitted in a grove but because of the way the system was designed I needed two to keep them in place & stop them twisting.
The benefits are - two less components on the spear & much quicker to load.
I have fired the gun numerous times underwater & I cant see any bad effects from the line attachment to the front of the spear but if only I could think of a way to make a slider work....

Agree. I am going to tray my slider (http://forums.deeperblue.com/pneumatic-spearguns/82689-slider.html) again but with stronger spring. I am sure it would work good. What size O-rings do you use for 6,5 mm shaft?
