I was drinking a lot of this tea from China last year... it was full of flower, green tea and bits and pieces (probably senna?) - it really flushed out the system (without providing you with too much information) and i noticed that it helped to accelerate me weight loss..

i havent had more of this tea this as it was brought to me from China.. doesn't anyone have a clue what it may be called?

It comes in tiny plastic reseable "Jiffy bags) and straws.. you have to use each sachet three times before throwing it away..

Beware of laxatives, natural or not. Maybe a fast way to lose weight but not extremely healthy.

I think that depends on what you're using for laxatives and how much you're using it. Naturally, one should clean out the old dumpster (pardon the term, if you will). The cleaner your waste removal system is the less preoccupied your liver is keeping the body clean. Personally I really didn't like the fireworks display that some of these god-awful products promoted. Plenty of fresh plant fiber is good enough for me.

I'm a caveman at heart and would love nothing more than to eat a dove, wrapped in quail, wrapped in a cornish hen, wrapped in a duck, wrapped in a chicken, wrapped in a goose, wrapped in a turkey, wrapped in 5 pounds of bacon, slathered with a jalepeno walnut gorgonzola cream sauce in a moat of gravy-saturated mashed potatos for every lunch....but that would be a binding ordeal after a week. So I kid myself into enjoying various salads while I skim over laxative-related threads on Deeperblue.com.

The deal is....The cleaner your liver is, the less side-work it has to do at keeping your body clean of harmful chemicals that can't be broken down by other systems. The less side-work it has to do, the more it can concentrate on maintaining a more efficient (but not neccessarily higher) metabolic rate. Your liver will actually help get rid of unneccessary fat, and reduce the size of fat cells that you need and use within your certain lifestyle.

I agree with my pal Deep, here too. Some of these "Natural Blast Detox in 30 days" you should stay away from. There's a difference between getting your body in a healthy state to begin a new, healthier lifestyle of food and exercise....arather than losing about 20 lbs. of water-weight out the old p'tooty.

One helps you make way (so to speak) for a better body maintenance...and the other?

The other keeps you wondering if getting stuck in traffic is going to lead to a possible wardrobe change if you don't make it to an off-ramp in time. heh-heh.

My advice would be to do the whole blow-out thing for about a week, and from then on, work on maintaining liver health.

[Tears of joy]Never have I met a man who knew my fantasies better than me - till this very day...[/Tears of joy]

Wrapped in an emu, wrapped in an ostrich, wrapped in an elephant bird, wrapped in a gargantuan elephant bird, wrapped in an elephant wrapped in a blue whale.... o dear....

And you should know about maintaining liver health... as you have four of those in the size of small baby seals... ;)

I am currently in Xinyu, Jiangxi province. If you know the name of the tea, I could post it to you.

This reminds me ... something similar was done by the aristocracy during the Roman empire when they would throw parties. They would actually cook a cow with a lamb stuffed inside, with a duck stuffed inside, with a chicken stuffed inside. My mouth is watering as we speak....... droooool :D

Those Romans sure knew a thing or two about hedonism....

Those of us in the UK may have seen Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's ten bird roast on television. An old English recipe, it has a turkey, stuffed with a goose, stuffed with a duck, stuffed with a pheasant, stuffed with a grouse, stuffed with a quail, stuffed with a pigeon, stuffed with a woodcock, stuffed with a black chicken, stuffed with a partridge. Or something like that. Sadly, Hugh doesn’t have any pictures or details on his website. Certainly looked extremely yummy, though. You wouldn’t want to eat a whole one within a couple of hours of diving ;).

I think I would have to batter that and fry it. I AM a Texan, if you don't remember.

Oh, on a mood-killing side note, folks. Eating different types of meat and animal protein, eggs aside, causes toxicity for your liver to get temporarily gunked up. So for all those people slaving away at diets like the Sander and I, make sure you stick to one meat per meal with plenty of time to digest before switching to another.

In other words don't mix stuff like pork and chicken, or beef and lamb (gyro meat, one of my fav's), or even shrimp and crab, as it causes the liver to be bogged down with the task of breaking down digestion-related toxins.

I think that tea has something to do with Gingko, thats the leaf in the picture on the webpage.
Most of the page won't load for me so I can't see the picture of the Tea.

10 bird roast??

It would look like a cross section of a tree, Sands.

A beautifully tender, juicey, magical trunk of delectable bird meat.

That would be really good with a port wine/currant liqour reduction with glazed red onion and a couple of marmalade seared shallots on top. And a lovely glass of red wine, of course.

i used to drink Gingko tea as well last year, along with the chinese stuff. it's very bitter !!! was a bit of an overload on the poor water and sewage works.. not that you really need to know that.

I'll try and get the webpage translated.

Thanks Huan.

Well...I consulted native Chinese speaker to help me read your tea web page.
The tea is allegedly for loosing weigth.
It consists of:
-tuber fleeceflower
-dried tangerine peel
-ecklonia , laminaria
-lotus leaf
-whitethorn
I haven't got a clue what these are, apart from lotus leaf.
It is not available locally in this province. It has to be ordered from Shanghai.
The girl who translated this for me says there are many "weigth loosing" tea brands in China. If you are still interested, I'll get address translated and you can order it.

I know you asked for information, not for opinion, but I am a bit sceptical. I cannot see how just drinking tea can get rid of body fat. As far as I know, you can remove fat surgically or burn it. I might be wrong, but I am not aware that you can pass it out of your body by doing either no.1 or no.2.
If the tea is only addition to excercise and diet...then you can use water instead as well.
You can remove celulite only surgically.

I think there is only one proper way to loose body fat. No magic tricks. You have to watch how much and what you eat and you have to excercise. Not for a month or a year, but for life.
Good luck. :)
