Well all, we're moving! We are off to a little place called "Sawtell" near Coff's Harbour.
It's in New South Wales. So basically a move 4+1/2 hour South of where we currently live.
My wife has landed a nice job and we had been targeting the area as a family decision ever since our Christmas holiday.

So, big changes soo, especially seeing as it's a quiet coastal town! We are swapping the city for some sand!!!

Hey Reefy,
Sawtell, I windsurf near there quite often in summer. It's a really nice part of the world. I'm sure you'll love it. In fact, i wish I was moving there!
The only downside I can see is that I won't be able to make any queenslander jokes!
You're one of us now! Congrats!

Reefy do the locals know that you’re on yer way? And if so are they all now moving on down the road….roflroflrofl

Seriously though mate, good luck with the move and your new life in a new part of the world.

Well I dare say we'll be diving together in Summer then Antoine!! Yeah it's gorgeous, my Gran used to live in Nambucca, so it's a bit of a chuildhood dream for me.

Ha ha Podge, it's funny cause it's true.

Thanks very much mate. We'll also be living in the "Solitary Islands Marine Park."
Amazing place. Covers 75km's, made up of, as the title suggests, a few solitary islands. But at the Southern End it has cold water life, at the North, tropical life. Massive variance due to oceanic currents.

I can't believe it mate. You're moving to NSW but you're still going to live in an amazingly beautiful, warm place whilst the virtually all the rest of us New South Welshmen are stuck in cold, miserable Sydney!
You can't imagine my jealousy!

Still, I can't complain. I would rather live in Sydney than , god-forbid, London or Frankfurt or something!!!

Let us know what you think of the place when you're down there!

Awesome news mate! We'll miss you round here.

I had an old girlfriend from Sawtell... actually probably still do, we never officially broke up, just stopped ringing each other

I remember having a pretty bloody good pie in the main street of Sawtell last time I was there, but the pub's a bit rough. You'll fit in well :friday

Let us know when you have some time for some land based wet training, if you know what I mean

Cheers,
Ben

Yeah mate will do.

Oh, and thanks, I think, ha ha.

I won't just vanish mate.

Good luck with the move! Sounds like youre going in a good direction. I will have to look on google earth now...

Oh he certainly is going in the right direction! South is the only way to go for a queenslander!

Ha ha it's true! I can honestly claim to be a New South Welshman again!!I'll be socially accepted around the world!!

Best of luck with the move, Reefy. It's always a big emotion when you're about such a move. A few years ago we moved north. Now wifey says we should move back south again...So it's life.

You will be assimilated . . . resistance is futile . . .

HA HA!rofl I don't know what's the equivalent for a canadian like you? Perhaps being a Quebecois is the Australian equivalent of the Queenslanders!

There's nobody anywhere else in the world like the Quebec folks. They speak French with several different regional accents, some modern, some in the north dating back to the 16th century. They drink Maudite beer Unibroue Maudite | The Beer Store (8% alcohol and kick-ass flavour, now an Aussie could relate to that!) and eat this strange concoction called Poutine, raise an ear-splitting ruckus when the Habs are winning their games, dig themselves out of snowbanks sometimes 2 m deep, and they go diving in waters that range from "stone cold" in the summertime to "barely above freezing" in the wintertime.

That's the stereotype anyway, lots of variety, but true on average. Here's a little glimpse:

What's the stereotype of the Queenslander?
