Ii am looking at the islands of Mozambique for a potential December holiday.. is there anything that springs to anyone's mind - any past experiences, destination recommendations?

Hi Sara, probably not much help but me and the wife spent a fantastic week on Mafia Island off the coast of Tanzania.
The diving is superb and pristine plus they have year round whale sharks.
Mafia looks like the archetypal island paradise, palm trees, sand, blue sky, azure sea that kind of thing.
Most of the tourist stuff is run by Italians (nothing to do with 'mafia' by the way.)
If you are interested contact Mario (super mario) who owns Big Blu diving, he can sort everything.
The wife and me, we want to go back, maybe combine it with a safari in Tanzania.
Oh, the first time we went it was because my wife won the holiday at the London dive show, diving, hotel lodge, food, flights, the lot, so it was even more enjoyable.
If you're thinking of your honeymoon Mafia would be a magical place to spend it, and congratulations to the both of you, wherever you go, have a fantastic time.

Dave.

Hi Ms Sands...I will also be in Moz early 2011 so would be gratefull of any and all info you might glean ... planning to overland up from Durban along the coast hitting a few hotspots along the way and don't know how far North we will venture... also have a lodge at Ngwenya (KNP) to chill out on the way back. Moz is 'new' to me not having been there since the early 70's - yeah, long time!
I have heard that things are quite good there now! Cheers B
PS All the best to you and hubby!
