I have been using a mini multiplyer reel on my cave gun for about a year now, I bought the reel second hand for 10$. And it is fine as long as the fish are not to big eg 7kg less. Thing is, it is starting to get worn out so I am thinking about either getting another multi or a proper real. I really like the multiplyer cause it is so compact.
Question - Is there such a thing as mini-speargun reels? If so could someone recomend a link?
Thank you

Do you mean a fishing multiplier? If so I am surprised it would survive the sea water saturation!

My guess is that Craig Thailand is talking about a reel with gears that multiply your turns of the handle, hence reeling in the line a lot faster than with the 1-to-1 relation of a direct conection. Those reels are made for fishing with rods, not to be submerged in the water all the time. However, I used one myself for a long time, and it didn't disintegrate. Of course I disassembled it frequently for cleaning and greasing. The main inconvenient was that it was heavy, and it didn't have capacity for more than 30 meters of monofilament, although that was enough for me.

I mean a multiplyer fishing reel. I have used it for a long time and like josedesucre i take it to pieces and clean it up after a dive. It works great and its tiny. The only problem is its got banged up and abused over a year and the handle is about ready to fall off too. I will look into the match 30 and if I can order it easily i may get that.
The fishing reels really do a good job though, just high maintenance thats all, kinda like my wife:t
