I wanted to start this thread to wish Murat Best wishes, as he Leaves on Sunday to go to Ankara to start his National service(Military) and thought that maybe other members would like to do the same.

Best wishes Murat, see you in March when you return to the Island.

You do NOT want to go there...... The "Entrance Physical" is somewhat designed to weed out those guys that tend to the .... :girlie side of life....

In the late 1970's, when lining up, the Company Commanders would be yelling at the recruits "Nuts To Butts!" to get them into a very compact line but that quickly became "Toe To Heel" in the early 80's.... for obvious reasons :mute

Ugh!

Hey Murat, you DO know what NAVY stands for, right?

hey Murat!! don't worry! you'll only be classed as a :girlie during the Nuts to Butts line-up if you push-back during the "exercises"

Actually, no....

You get classified as a :girlie if the guy in front of you yells, jumps, turns around, and then proceeds to punch your lights out..... :ko

Thanks a lot Peter, guys and girls  :)

Sarah don't worry, i will take care myself. I hope..... rofl

Johnny,

to be honest i don't feel anything about it neither excited not scared. Its just something that everbody had to do here and i will do it too as the rest of the other boys.

Bret, i did not volunteered but it does not make much difference here rofl anyway at least you were in navy, close to sea. Me not :waterwork :waterwork

It will start on this Monday in local city. Its 3 days training after that i will have 10 days off to prepare for main training in Ankara Türkey (i won the exam and will go to Lteunant school). After 3 moths of training there i will come back to Cyprus for the rest of my Military service (9 months) as Lt.

If i won''t have a access to internet you will know what i am doing :)

But i will do my best to keep you guys informed.

Thanks again for the wishes.

Congratulations! I am not sure if the ranking structure is similar to what I know BUT being in a command position beats the tar out of being cannon food regardless!

Hayirli tezkereler Murat.

You know what you have to do mate :) never be the first, never be the last! Never say you know something best but do it if you are asked to do!

You will be a high rank officer in you division for sure and man, enjoy it ;) take care!
