Well - on Friday i'm off to camp in a field, drink lots of fluid, get sunburnt (I hope) and generally have a good time. Yup - it's time to head over to the V Festival once again.

Whilst sitting here I thought i'd start a nice little off-topic thread to see if anyone else is going or been too any music festivals this summer?

When i lived in th UK i used to go to Womad every year.. drink, sun and other mind blowing activities ;)

Pink is on this weekend in Dubai, but as usual there will be no parking space for miles so wont bother!

Well now heres a thread I can relate to, music festivals are absolutely one of the best things anybody has ever come up with, my only one thus far for this year was the My Coke Fest The Power of 5FM | Studio Number 089 11 00 505 , saw Staind, Evanescence, Hoobastank and 3 Doors Down and that was just the international bands but I try to go as often as I can. Best one Ive ever been to was the last Wingerdstok fest, 50 odd bands playing all weekend long, sunburn and lots of fluids as you say. Another on my list is Oppikoppi, also a killer weekend with big bands and big partying :) :friday

sunburnt? I don't believe its sunny in the UK. I'm like an hour and 30 flight away and its gale force winds, electrical storms and torrential rain. half the electric is out and the internet is intermittent at best.
So much for global warming.

P.S. download festival is the best of british!

PS: IT AINT FAIR THAT YOU GUYS GET SUCH ALOT OF BIG BANDS IN YOUR FESTIVALS :vangry

Ah sunny Chelmsford... I used to go there for work a lot delivering to cantelec in moulsham st. and the industrial estates... and all the houses. CM and CO was My permanent route for a while. Not the best place for freediving mind but not as bad as Milton Keynes lol.

I hope the weather holds out For V for You!

When i was over in the UK i went to the Reading festival...had a great time! lots of mud, beer, and music! was awesome!

Reggae on the River was last wkend but I missed it, a co-worker had a good time there.

used to go to all of them for work - and before that used to go to Glastonbury every year - some of the best times ever...

mind you that was before it was full of drunk/drugged Scousers who stole your tent and beat you up...

V Festival - now that's always been the posh one for civilised people who mostly go home each night... bit grown up for my liking but had a few good times there when I was working for Virgin

Reading - is the scary one, particularly if you have been up all night at the Kerrang awards the night before... no idea how I made it through those weekends...

haven't been to any this summer but one day somehow I'll make it to Glastonbury again....

Pink is really great! I was at her concert in Germany some weeks ago. Not a huge festival - only 12 000 people - but with a lot of rain.

sheesh did you have a prime seat to take that picture or a really good lens? nice shot.

I'm betting they are local paper web article shots... can't see anyone going to a festival to take photies.

Yes, that were pictures from the official photographer.:)
I didn't take my camera to the concert because normally it is not allowed to take video or audio files. But non one cared about that fact and so I was more or less the only one without a digital camera or a photo mobile phone...:rcard
But with the internet you can solve those problems and get (almost) every photo you want... :t

Mobiles are everywhere now but a big SLR at a festival is just wrong lol... maybe its a German thing, like white socks and sandals?
