I’m sure that this has been covered before but what the hell-
On my way home from work today this came on the radio and before I new it I was away with the old steering wheel guitar...
So here are a few of my favourite classic driving tunes.
I have no idea if the lyrics have some sort of deeper meaning and I don’t really care, but it is a good tune.

And of course you can’t drive any distance without a bit of Stone Rose’s

And then there’s the mighty Pink Floyd

No question that Dave Gilmore is a guitar god
Bit of a mix and mash there ain’t it!!!!
Anybody else got anything worth a listen then????????

hehe love fortunate sun.. reminds me of my Battlefield 1942 days (yes it was actually in BF Vietnam, but i play 1942 and DC more, so i associate the song with all three.)

I have funk-bassed my way to work on this recently..........

I listen to a WIDE span of music - pretty much everything except country. Although recently I guess I would say i've been listening to more "Rage Against the Machine" , "Chevelle", "Blindside", "Silverchair" and "Metallica". I would post some of their videos but they may not be suitable for younger viewers :D I guess Chevelle and Blindside would be ok:

Good one Scott, I like The Red by Chevelle.
Anybody else got anything worth a listen??

An old Phil Lynott / Thin Lizzy song, a slow blues in Am, re-done by Gary Moore & Brian Robertson. [Long but if you like blues/rock guitar stick with it].

Don't miss the dive bombing on that last one. It caused quite a stir back in the day - saw a great clip on Jimi being interviewed on the American Ed Sullivan TV show about this performance, where Ed explains that Jimi served his country as US marine/paratrooper(?) and Jimi describes it as "beautiful".:D

Hawkwind...Stonehenge Festival legends. It was always a topic of discussion, back in the day, when would Hawkwind show up? Surely they'll be there? :D Steve Hilage, Mike Moorcock,...:)

How about this for a drive track:
[ame=http://pop.youtube.com/watch?v=OrljWGIHB7c&feature=related]YouTube - Canned Heat - On The Road Again (feat. Alan Wilson)[/ame]

There's a track I'm trying to find, it's played occasionally on Radio 2 in the morning. I think the group is Canned Heat & the song reminds me of a lot of several later songs, including a ZZ Top style riff. Just can't find it at the moment.
